Without any doubt, Vim Lady is one of the hardworking and industrious journalist on the Ghanaian media landscape . As a Ghanaian media personality , Vim Lady is currently the Head of Programs at the Despite Media Group which comprises of Peace FM, Okay FM, Neat FM, and Hello FM in Kumasi and UTV.
It is interesting to note that when was at Adom FM, a subsidiary of Multimedia Group Limited, she was the Editor. It was in October 2019 that she resigned from Multimedia Group Limited and then joined UTV .
Vim Lady ,known in private life as Afia Pokua had her secondary education at Labone Secondary School and then she furthered her studies at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) .
Impressively she graduated in Law; a feat much of female journalists in the country haven’t tried to pursue and achieve.
Vim Lady has also had further studies at the UK, London Centre Of Marketing. About five years ago , she set up the SugarDem Ministry, a gender parity activist group set up to parallel the PepperDem Ministry that advocates for women to uphold stricter relationships with men.
Currently, Afia Pokua is the host of Egyaso Gyaso, a popular news analysis program aired on Okay FM Mondays and Fridays between 7 pm and 9:30 pm. She also co-hosts UTV’s morning show dubbed Adekye Nsroma.
Due to her Law background, she hosts MmaraNoSeSen on UTV and this is an educative show on law that airs on the station. The show elaborates what the law stipulates on various matters that Ghanaians encounter on a daily basis.
Its important to note that Vim Lady has been nominated for award in numerous awards schemes in the country .Out of the lot , she got awarded as Radio and Television Personalities Awards Radio Female Presenter Of The Year 2019-2020. She also got awarded at the MTN Heroes of Change 2019 and at the Golden Excellence Awards.
