The President of the Republic of Ghana, Akufo Addo has indicated that he would have no option than to institute a partial lockdown if the active number of coronavirus cases increases.
Speaking to Ghanaians in his usual address to the nation, President Akufo Addo further disclosed that he has instructed Ghana Police and other security services to enforce the law of mandatory wearing of face masks in all public places to prevent the spread of the virus.
He noted that if any individual is found not to be wearing a face mask, that person would be punished according to the law.
All institutions that do not also enforce the wearing of face masks by its employees as well as adhering of other COVID-19 protocols would be inhibited from carrying on with their businesses.
Even as all schools reopen tomorrow, President Akufo Addo has indicated that if students do not want him to close down schools again, then they should adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols.
