President Akufo Addo Declares December 7th As A Public Holiday
The President of the Republic of Ghana has declared Monday December 7,2020 as a public holiday.
In a statement released and signed by the Director of Communications at the Jubilee House, the public holiday is to facilitate the conduct of the election in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, help ensure the strict observance of the COVID-19 safety protocols on election and also enable all registered voters to exercise their franchise.

The decision to declare December 7th a public holiday follows the submission of a proposal to the President by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission ,Mrs.Jean Mensa.
The proposal is also supported by the Inter Party Advisory Committee(IPAC) ,which has all political parties involved.
